Merging
[edit]Should we consider merging this article with Myostatin?--Wyn.junior (talk) 01:20, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
the section about increased strength is at least questionable

"Lack of myostatin results in excessive muscle growth but impaired force generation"
"...Such views may have neglected a critical evaluation of the functional aspects of muscle hypertrophy induced by the absence of myostatin. Doubts of this sort are indirectly supported by the observation that this increase in muscle mass is not accompanied by a proportionate increase in muscle force (5, 6). Furthermore, cattle with hereditary muscular hypertrophy (double-muscled cattle), many of which have been shown to harbor mutations in the myostatin (Mstn) gene, are actually prone to muscle damage after mild exercise (7โ10). It is reported, however, that myostatin-deficient mice do not suffer from muscle fiber damage when subjected to brief periods of exercise (11)." โย Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:204:DA80:1400:D9CB:BA95:21B:550A (talk) 06:49, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
