Angelika Kluk and excessive external links
[edit]To User:172.203.78.242: The numerous links you have added to the Angelika Kluk article fall far outside what is considered appropriate for Wikipedia. Particularly in light of how there's virtually no content in the article itself. The articles themselves may be useful in writing and properly referencing the article, but they do not belong en masse, and do not take the place of a proper article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, particularly Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files. I've posted this both on your IP's talk page and on the talk page of this article. Ford MF 17:16, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
Argument against deletion
[edit]What is notable here is not so much the person as the criminal case itself. For those of you in the dark (the dark generally taken to mean the dark containent of North America - into which no light from the outside may reach but from which plenty of rubbish does pour forth) this article is referring to a high profile murder case currently still in court in Scotland. Details of the case include an alcoholic, Catholic priest who admitted a prior sexual relationship with the victim (who was accommodated as staff of the church at the time of her death) after previously lying to police about it.
I would not have thought a worthwhile entry could be written for the case, while it is still in court, but countless newspaper articles and TV news items throughout the UK and the British media online certainly reflect the notability of the case. I would be very surprised if there hasn't been equal coverage in Poland. Furthermore, if I may cite precedent, Wikipedia is chock full of articles on 'famous' murders, rapes and kidnappings - listed under the names of either the victims or the perpurtrators and largely consisting of cases little known outside North America.
When a verdict has been reached and the contents of this entry may be more than a mixture of speculation and coverage of current affairs, it should be given some attention. until then I don't see why it should be deleted. --JamesTheNumberless 14:27, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

- Oh, but it's such fun! In all seriousness, there is an afwul lot of uncontested trivia on Wikipedia that is arguably less notable than this case. --JamesTheNumberless 13:33, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Funniest thing I've read in ages (the americancentric emphasis of wikipedia)
Where's the article?
[edit]A Google search on "Angelika Kluk" reveals a great many stories with lurid details of a viciously murdered attractive young lady and a trial with testimony by or evidence regarding a priest, a sheriff, a businessman, his wife, and a handyman. Why is the article still a stub? It could be expanded without violating WP:BLP based on reports of court testimony. Edison 20:22, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think people are being put off by the dirty great article for deletion tag slapped on the front of it, I know I am. I suspet that while this remains, people will be reluctant to contribute work they feel they might lose to the judgement of a deletion debate. --JamesTheNumberless 13:37, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've gotta be honest, I'm getting rather fed up of the arbitrary and thoughtless attitudes people often have to notability and deletion on wikipedia. This trial is not even a candidate for deletion. It led the headlines in Scotland for ages, and the United Kingdom headlines too on occassion. Get rid of those all those college sportsmen and Z-class entertainers who saturate this encyclopedia first.
- On another note, Peter Tobin committed different high-profile on more than one occassion. There's no reason for his article to be merged into this. Peter Tobin has gone way above the boundary for notability in his own right, as I would suggest have some of the people list here as important in the trial, including Gerry Nugent, Donald Findlay (already got one), Dorothy Bain, David Swindle and perhaps Martin MacAskil (of no individual importance, but has become rather famous in Scotland because of TV and tabloids). As someone who attended the trial (I live a block from the court), I'd be happy to expand this article, but there is the fear of deleto-vandalism, which I agree is very discouraging. I do agree Angelika Kluk can probably be submerged in this page, but I found the decision of the closing admin to move it here rather puzzling. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 18:09, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- If you are interested, I'd suggest creating this article first. It will not be deleted. If it proves that there is encyclopedic information about the principals that can't be accommodated here, then it can be split off. But I doubt there would be any encyclopaedic information on most of them that wouldn't be covered here - the exceptions are Findlay and possibly Tobin.--Docg 18:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Objection to merging articles
As someone closely involved with the case and directly affected by it, I am constantly surprised at the ease with which total strangers can discuss Angelika's murder and how easily they treat her as a commodity. Quote - "I do agree Angelika Kluk can probably be submerged in this page" - what sort of language is that to talk about someone? People seem to forget that she was a real person, not put on this earth for the chattering classes to gossip about. Neither she (nor I for that matter) had any desire for our private lives to be made public, nor was it easy to witness so many lies and inaccuracies about our lives. What gives people the right to comment? Arrogance and piety mostly.
With regard to "merging" this article with one relating to Tobin, I find the notion quite disgusting and I object to it strongly. Quite honestly, I think the page on Angela should be deleted as well. The girl is at peace. Let her stay that way. Martin Macaskill 22:38, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Merger
[edit]The article requires merging as without merging Therese may fail to meet the required notability standards. This would also reduce information disparity and improve the overall article coverage.--Lucy-marie (talk) 20:28, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with merging this page with Peter Tobin. As harsh as it sounds, Kluk is notable for being a murder victim, which usually only warrants inclusion in the murder's article. Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Special_cases and WP:1E support this. momoricks (make my day) 03:43, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Merge into Peter Tobin. If this article is to be kept, it should be renamed Murder of Angelika Kluk, in line with other articles about murders of otherwise non-notable people. Lkjhgfdsa 0 (talk) 01:11, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
- This article needs to be merged, pronto.--Zucchinidreams (talk) 19:51, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Spelling of surname
[edit]The article includes both Kluk and Kluck; which is correct? Lkjhgfdsa 0 (talk) 01:11, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
