This article is an utter nonsence:

1) This "battle" is actually a series of encounters, Bulgarian charges and a few Serbian local counterattacks that are universally counted as being a part of the joint German, Austro Hungarian and Bulgarian offensive against the Serbia. Since both Serbian and Bulgairan histories tend to naturally be more or less biased, I would like a neutral source that acknowledges this as a distinct battle.

2) Serbian army strenght in the battlebox is the greatest overstatement yet seen by me on wikipedia. Serbian 2nd army NEVER, AT NO POINT DURING THE WHOLE WAR HAD 200.000 SOLDIERS!!! At it's peak strength during the battle of Cer (when it was reinforced by at least two divisions from the 1st army) it perhaps had around 100.000. It is possible that somebody came up with the number (falsely) claiming that the army had 8 divisions and then multiplying it with the number of soldiers a full sized Bulgarian division - perhaps not knowing that a Bulgarian divisions normally consisted of three brigades whereas most other armys' divisions (including Serbian) consisted of just two (to be exact Serbian WW1 formation did not have brigades - regiments directly forming divisions - the division being (normally) formed of 4 regiments - the equalent of two brigades).

3) However the 2nd army was not the only Serbian formation facing the Bulgarians. There were a few independant detatchments and a fairly large (but less trained and equipped) force named "Trupe novih oblasti" - "Troops of New Districts" - mostly recruits from the areas liberated from the Ottomans in the First Balkan War. The latter faced the Bulgarian 2nd Army in Macedonia. Perhaps (but just perhaps!) if all Serbian forces facing the Bulgarians were counted it would amount to 200.000, but then the Bulgarian 2nd army should be included in the Bulgarian list. Without question is the fact that the Serbians were outnumbered.

Rename is Silly

[edit]

In English, adjectives can be used as nouns. Thus, "the Morava Offensive" is all you need, or "Morava Offensive"---no need for the additional word "Operation" in the title.Ryoung122 10:06, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I understand. You can rename it again if you like, all three of them.By the way there are plenty of articles about Soviet operations in WW2 named in this way.--Avidius (talk) 14:30, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
