Focus of article
[edit]IMHO, the article should be about the real, physical Moog Model 15 hardware modular synthesizer first, not about a related mobile app. The app should be mentioned in a 'Software emulation' section or similar.UniversalNation (talk) 17:08, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
I thoroughly agree with you, Universal. It's quite disappointing that this is the current result :-( FloorTheRetroZoomer (talk) 06:35, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
Explicit (talk), There was an epic synthesizer called the 'Moog Model 15,' released by Moog. However, there are no reliable sources for the synthesizer itself to have a dedicated Wikipedia page. Instead, because Moog later released an app replicating the synthesizer, which has a few press releases and (most likely paid) promotional reviews online, Wikipedia now has a page about the app rather than the original synth. That page links directly to the app’s website, where you can buy it, essentially serving as a promotional backlink. With this approach, Wikipedia risks turning into a garbage dump of promotional yellow pages rather than an encyclopedia. I am sure any synth enthusiast would prefer to see a page about the original synth, not a landing page for the app. What can we do about this? Warmonger123 (talk) 19:30, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
