Can anybody share his/her views with respect to History of Mogaltur. We shall be contributing our articles soon Mogaltur derives its name from the flower Mogali ,the Fragrant Screwpine/Gandharva Ganjam Kewda.. Mogali bushes and the Mogal flowers (Mogali Puvvu) used to thrive at this sandy village.. Therefore it was Mogali Vuru( (Vuru means a village).. Mogali Vuru was pronounced as Mogaltur,by the Dutch, French and the British administrations that ruled this village, with their station at Narsapuram, the Taluka headquarters.. Another version is the white complexioned Suryava Vamsa Kshatriyas, Rajasthan went very very far off to escape the onslaught of Aurangzeb, the Moghal despotic emperor and that,they in that process set their foot at this coastal village,and started living there by getting built a huge fort made of the black clay brought from the nearby Seripalem area through the human chain by passing the moulds of clay from hand to hand.. The Velama community knonn to be expert in the fort building was also brought to this village to build the fort surrounded by the puddles.. The Tayi Velama family is said to have built up the fort,with a wax palace and the tunnel to escape.. Since , these Kshatriyas came from the Moghal ruled Northern India,this village got the name of Moghal Vuru that came to be called Mogaltur.. The Kshatriyas of this Mogaltur fort are a rare race of the sparkling white complexion, considered superior to the Chandravamsa Kshatriyas.. The suffix Bahadur is in usage among them.. On the eastern part of Mogaltur, Narsapuram is the main town on the banks of the river Vasistta Godavari,the other bank of which is in the East Godavari District, now named as the Ambedkar Konasima District.. This part of the eastern bank of the river Vasisttha Godavari is known as Sakhinetipalli, the place visited by Lord Rama and His better-half Sita, where Rama said in chaste Telugu " Sakhi neti palli" ie Dear wife this our today's village for our staying.. (Sakhi means dear wife ,here.. Neti means today.. Palli means village).. The river Godavari confluences with the Bay Of Bengal at the nearby place called Antarvedi,where the famous Narasimha temple stands thriving, to which the Mogaltur Kings are some of the administrators... On the southern side of Mogaltur the Bay Of Bengal has the Perupalm beach.. The northern side of Mogaltur is surrounded by lush green Paddy fields..The western part of Mogaltur is bordered by the Krishna District just behind the Vupputeru,which is a stream formed by the high tide and low tide of the Bay Of Bengal..Narsapuram, Palakollu, Bhimavaam are the nearby towns of Mogaltur.. Now, on account of the progressive measures of the Government Of Bharat laying the Kolkata- Chennai highway, Machilipatnam has now become nearer to Mogaltur .. Mogaltur is arranged in such a way that different castes live at the appropriate places.. The Mala community is provided hamlets such as Kondavari Palem, Godavari Palem,etc.. The Madiga community is given its territories separately.. The Settibalija community is given hamlets like Kannayigudem(Kadalivaripeta), Satrampalem, Kukkalavari Thota etc.. The Kapu community is given territories such as Pulapartivari Thota, Lakkuvarri Thota, Akanavari Thota, Addalavari Thota,Aitamvari Thota,etc.. The Brahmins, Vysyas, and a few Kshatriyas are given the main road area.. The fishermen known as the Agnikulakshatriyas are given the territories like Pedapallavapalm, Chinapallavapalem.. The fishermen of Mogaltur are very able bodied, brave and masters of the sea craft.. There is salipeta at Mogaltur where the people of the Wadayar community exist who are specialists in brick making, who use the black clay very ideally for brick making through brick kilns ,as the clay is a very scarce commodity of Mogaltur being a sandy area..There are interesting far flung hamlets such as Kottakayala Tippa,Vara Tippa, Biyyapu Tippa, Deyyala Tippa(Devils Place), Neeti Tippa, Vara Tippa etc. Kottakayala Tippa is a hamlet where the people of the Kapu community used to be more than 6 foot in height..There is a hamlet called Rajugari Thota where the potter community used to exist. Mogaltur has a street called Dayaldas Peta, where the Peer cult Muslims used to stay.. Behind the Maremma temple there is Gollagudem, accommodating the Yadava community .There is a Ramalayam, Sivalayam, Anjaneya Alayam, and Sri Venkateswara Swamy Alayam..Maremma is the ullage Goddess of Mogaltur,who has a temple, near the house of Filmstar Chiranjeevi.. Mogaltur used to have it's prestigious palace near the house of Filmstar Krishnam Raju, called the Ketaki Mahal, which is no more now.. The rich Kshatriyas of this region had no vision to protect the Mogaltur fort which is dilapidated in toto, and to protect the Ketaki Mahal.. Although, Mogaltur doesn't have any communal issues, , now,several Scheduled Castes like the Mala and Madiga communities embraced the Christianity and Mogaltur is now abounding in several Churches ..People of Mogaltur unite spiritedly in times of the distress.. In 1986, the Mogaltur village suffered the havoc of flood , a deluge,for days together.. The people united and collectively defended the Mogaltur village from the violent ravages of the nature and the altruistic souls of Mogaltur arranged the feeding of the flood victims..A pious lady Smt SANKU Satyavati , wife of Sri SANKU Ramachandra Rao,prayed to Goddess Ganga to recede and vowed to name the kid to be born to her daughter in law,with the expression Ganga.. On 03-09-1986, Smt Parvati , the daughter in law of Smt Satyavati gave birth to a boy and she named him as Gangadhar,and the flood relaxed.. The boy's name was thereafter suitably altered as SANKU Balagangadhara Tilak..Kumudben Joshi, the then Governor of the State Of Andhra Pradesh, visited Mogaltur and praised the collective cooperative spirit of the people of Mogaltur as a whole.. The All India Radio , Vijayawada, through the Voice Of Sri Prayaga Ramakrishna eulogised her appreciation for Mogaltur .. Apart from the Filmstars,Mogaltur has another gem who sends rockets into stars.. It is Sri MYS Prasad, the rocket scientist at the Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota ISRO.. Mogaltur, used to have the Ayurvedic scholars, who could predict the time of their death.. Sri SANKU Bapanna and Sri Vardhamana Viswanadham, both good at Ayurveda, reached their makers,on the days as per their predictions.. Sri Vardhamana Lakshminarayana, the brother of Sri Viswanadham, used to teach English to the students of Mogaltur.. He was a scholarly grammarian and astrologer and attempted a book on astrology.. The Vardhamanas have a street named after their Surname which is called the Vardhamanivari Street.. The Vardhamana clan was invited from Maharashtra, to advise the Mogaltur king.. A veteran Sri Narayana Rao, associated with the Azad Hind Fauj,used live at Mogaltur and several people associated with Sri Alluri Sitarama Raju used to live at Mogaltur
