This page artificially breaks up the two recognised reproductive modes into classifications that are not used by the general reproductive biology community. The content comes from a single author.

There are only two widely recognised reproductive modes in vertebrates, oviparity and viviparity and all species can unambiguously be assigned to one of these groups.
