Fair use rationale for Image:Maisky Bach Suites.jpeg

[edit]

Image:Maisky Bach Suites.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Prison

[edit]

In a brief memoir in "The Strad" magazine he says he was in prison for 18 months "shoveling concrete" and "building Communism."

Any details on those circumstances?--23.119.204.117 (talk) 05:46, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is absolutely true! In addition he spent 2 months in the psychiatric hospital - in order to escape military service... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A03F:16C3:600:99E6:2910:B41D:D3DD (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism

[edit]

I notice that some sections of this article are directly plagiarized from the website: http://en.chopin.nifc.pl/chopin/persons/detail/id/7221 For example: "One of the highlights in his career was the year 2000 - it was mainly devoted to a world-wide Bach tour which included over 100 concerts!" Several other sentences have only had a few words changed in order to not appear plagiarized but should still be changed to be consistent with Wikipedia's style. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hedmondson2000 (talkcontribs) 15:52, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rostropovich and Piatigorsky

[edit]

I have read that Maisky is the only cellist who studied with both Rostropovich and Piatigorsky. is this correct? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 03:53, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
