Description of the population
[edit]"...particularly Anglo-Saxon Protestant, Ulster Scot, or other Germanic descent..."
If I look up the Census map or the map at the "German-Americans", I'd say the majority of the population is of German descent and therefore should be mentioned more explicitly. Their influence is definitely pretty large. Many/most towns there didn't change their German surnames or town names, during the anti-German sentiment at WWI. In contrast to the East coast and other parts of the US.
This way it sounds more like a description of New England. KingOfRay (talk) 07:49, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
