Women's Ice Hockey Team

[edit]

The Michigan State Women's Ice Hockey team is not, as the article indicates, one of two varsity ice hockey teams at the University. Women's ice hockey at Michigan State is a "club" (non-varsity, non-NCAA-sanctioned) sport. The team is a member of the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA).Owslachief (talk) 01:48, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Spartans?

[edit]

The term "Lady Spartans" is used frequently in this article, particularly in discussing women's basketball. I'm sure that the women's basketball team has been called simply the "Spartans" for many years and I don't know if they were ever called the "Lady Spartans". So I think this moniker either has to be jettisoned or (if was used long ago) placed into historical context. 2602:304:CDDD:5DE0:8D9A:AE63:9D79:EFE3 (talk) 12:25, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Football national championships

[edit]

Should be ACTUAL championship designations, not votes from individual pollsters. To wit - the 1979 champions were Alabama and USC. Michigan State finished 12 in the AP and unranked in the Coaches poll, the two major polls. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/1978_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_rankings This list is a work of fiction. Only '52 is legit, and maybe '51. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.98.13.113 (talk) 18:46, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

GA Reassessment

[edit]
Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · WatchWatch article reassessment page • GAN review not found
Result: delisted (t · c) buidhe 20:27, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not well written: Article contains many choppy, one-sentence paragraphs. Baseball section has no content, just a link to its main page. Awards and Academic All-Americans are just "See footnote" with a reference.
  • Not verifiable: Many unreferenced claims: many missing in Men's basketball, Football, and Other varsity sports, while none exist in Women's basketball.
  • Media not are relevant to topic: Questionable placement of old/alternative logos, e.g. the "Michigan State's classic 'S' logo" is in the football section with no reference to it. Not sure about the Big Ten logo below the infobox.

Overall, article is in a rough state and would need a significant amount of effort to bring it back up to GA standards. Pbrks (talk) 03:27, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
