Spelling of name
[edit]I've used this spelling of the name because of the links from the TdF pages, but I'm not convinced about the umlaut - only one source uses it. The Tour's official site doesn't, nor do any of the printed sources. Thoughts? --Elwood90 14:38, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- If the only reference is a French source, I wouldn't trust it, since they try to make many names French as it were. Severo 11:23, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks - I'll move it to Michael Wright (cyclist) then. --Elwood90 15:13, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's only my guess mind :) I've also tidied the disambig page for this name :) Severo 22:29, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

It's definitely Michael, without the diresis. Michaël reflects the Dutch pronunciation. Wright, however, was born in Britain and is French-speaking. To friends, he is known as Michel. Les woodland (talk) 14:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)les woodland
