Relating world Methodism connexions/conferences to Wesleyan Methodism

[edit]

In the article at the end of the lead paragraph there is this sentence:

The Methodist Church in India (MCI), is an "autonomous affiliated" Church in relation to the United Methodist Church.

Which sparked, for me, two questions:

  • Is it appropriate to detail the relationship of other churches around the world to the UMC particularly?
  • If one were to regard this as necessary, would the relationship to, or diversion from, Wesleyan Methodism in Britain not be more important?

Perhaps we need to consider what the Methodist work group policy should be in this?
My own feeling is that it would be helpful to readers unfamiliar with that Methodist Connexion or Conference to indicate the relationship and degree of diversion from, if any, from traditional Wesleyan Methodism. I would include Wesleyan Methodism in present day Britain in this. David_FLXD (Talk) 15:18, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
