This project doesn't really discuss what goes on at Merlefest, just a brief history as well as some artists that have played there. This article also on mentions Artists up to the 25th Anniversary but this year is going to to be the 31st annual event. Farmergb (talk) 16:23, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
Should we move this to MerleFest?
[edit]I just made a redirect from there to here, but in print I've always seen it written with a capital F. I think we whould move it unless someone thinks that violates WP:NAME. -MrFizyx 18:34, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, yes... I'm on it. Dan, the CowMan 20:05, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, we got it moved at last! "Merlefest" is now a redirect to "MerleFest." -MrFizyx 01:11, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the great effort resolving the misunderstanding. Dan, the CowMan 01:13, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Delete this?
[edit]This looks overly promotional: "The Belleville Outfit credits Merlefest for giving them their start in May 2007. Thanks to Merlefest the Belleville Outfit, a cross-genre American folk band based out of Austin, Texas, continues to thrive." Any reason not to delete these two sentences? How is #3 ranking established?
[edit]Some friends and I have been debating the assertion that MF is "#3 tourist attraction in NC". By what standard? Can this be sourced? It doesn't come close to breaking the top 30 "attractions", as measured by annual visitors. (Morehead Planetarium ends the list at 140K annually). http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2012/03/22/list-top-25-north-carolina-attractions.html So is it measured by events (behind what? The Memorial Day NASCAR race in Charlotte?) or by dollars spent (again, NASCAR??). Would love the clarification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.26.243.81 (talk) 18:08, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. I have been trying to find sources for anything like this, but haven't been able to so far. Unfortunately, I think it has been one of the articles edited by some IPs and users who have tried to strangely puff up or vandalize Wilkes county-related articles. Will see what I can find or delete it. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 19:44, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
