Stub
[edit]So many more google hits (sites, videos, images) for Meas Samon than some of his notable contemporaries, but I can't find much in English. From what I can tell, he was certainly notable as a singer/performer. Seems like a case when a stub is better than nothing.
I came across this page that I could not get Google to Translate properly -- perhaps someone else will have more luck.

Work camp
[edit]@Doomsdayer520: I had jotted down a couple notes from DTIF when I watched it on a plane a while back -- I just noted that it said he had been playing music "at work" and was later taken away. I took that to mean he was taken away to a work camp (or worse), but I haven't gone back to check yet. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 14:46, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Rhododendrites: My recollection from the movie is that he was working with a crew that was building a dam, and I have seen the generic term "work camp" for such things throughout the Khmer Rouge period. He was busted for playing music during a break then led away. Small differences in terminology are all good as long as we pay proper respect to the dearly departed. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:55, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
- I agree it's something we want to be accurate about. I asked vs. check myself because I don't remember where in the movie it was and don't have time to scrub through the whole thing right now. :) I'll look for it later. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 14:58, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
