The result of the move request was: page moved to Mauritia flexuosa. DrKiernan (talk) 10:01, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Moriche PalmMoriche palm – -> sentence case species common name as specified in WP:MOS. WolfmanSF (talk) 06:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: This is the wrong move to be discussing: I would support a move to Mauritia flexuosa per WP:FLORA. It gets a factor of 10 more Google Scholar hits than the purported current common name title. The scientific name still gets more Ghits than the other vernacular names, such as Aguaje. The scientific name, therefore, is the most commonly used name to refer to this species in reliable sources. Rkitko (talk) 17:00, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose proposed move, support move to scientific name. A series of Google Books searches shows that the most common common name is actually "Buriti palm", but the scientific name is most prevalent. Dohn joe (talk) 22:40, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

anthropomorphism

[edit]

may i suggest to exchange the word "elegant" in the first paragraph ("It is an elegant tree which can reach up to 35 metres in height.") against a less anthropomorphic word?--96.63.2.100 (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
