Dick Jol is not the brother of Martin Jol
[edit]The Dutch referee Dick Jol is definitely not the brother of Martin Jol, as is suggested in this article! As far as I know Martin Jol indeed has a brother, Cock, and a sister, Tineke.
- There are only two months between the birthdays of Martin and the referee Dick Jol, so they can't be "normal brothers" (only half brothers possible then). I suppose this information should be removed then. --Vince2004 16:55, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
This guy is right, Dick and Martin Jol aren't family at all.. they each where born in 1956 and Dick in Januari and Martin @ March, so they can't be brothers..
Martin is my cousin and Dick Jol is not related. Martin has 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
- Amended entry to explane that Cock is a contraction of Cornelis, as Dick is for Richard. Removed refernce to Dick Jol as he isn't a relation of Martin's Djarra 13:00, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
FourFourTwo citation
[edit]"In an interview in 2004, Jol told FourFourTwo that he would ideally like to spend five seasons in management with Spurs before returning back to the Netherlands to run a separate business, not football related." - could someone with the issue cite it please? Isn't he called the jolfather, as in "godfather"?
Martin Jol Stats Table
[edit]As the table of games won and lost changes on a biweekly basis, can people put a date by this so that readers know when it is relevent to. Thanks Athosfolk 11:09, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Article must be balanced
[edit]Wiki rules require us to be balanced. The entry was strongly partial in favour of Mr Jol and ignored the FACT that his record at Spurs has been patchy at best. We now have an encylopaedically correctly balanced entry with the good and the less good properly recorded. PaddyBriggs 08:23, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- The idea is to list his achievements as the title of the section very clearly stated before being changed. In exactly the same way for all football teams it lists only the honours received and not every failing. Within his section in the Tottenham article it clearly states season by season where Tottenham got to under him in each cup and therefore listing it in here is not relevant.
- This sort of information should be included in the main body of the article not what was clearly listed as the section for managerial achievements. Mattgibbins 10:31, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's objective to list actual results only, that does not include the unrealized expectations of a mad Spurs fan. Razororz 10:51, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- I strongly object to the insult "mad Spurs fan" and ask Razororz to withdraw it immediately. PaddyBriggs 10:55, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Puhlease. It was a facetious remark. Razororz 11:04, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Managerial Stats
[edit]The winning percentage in the Managerial Stats section of the article is a simple (Wins / Games), which doesn't take into account draws. Thus, Jol's record at Tottenham looks worse than it was, because the winning percentage is less than 50% despite the fact that he won more games than he lost. Not sure what the best solution here is, but I think a stat that takes draws into account would be better. Trb333 (talk) 11:20, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
