Suggest inclusion of Elder Jensen's attendance of meeting at Oakland Stake
[edit]The meeting Elder Jensen had with homosexual members and their friends and families before Stake Conference of the Oakland California Stake, may become a very historical incident. Ninety people attended the meeting, and thirteen people were able to speak about the heartbreak these members were experiencing as a result of the Church's policy toward homosexuality. Sister Carol Lynn Pearson was in attendance, and records Elder Jensen's response as follows, "Elder Jensen, who had been taking notes constantly, arose and through his tears said, 'I know that never in my life will I experience an hour quite like this one.' He said he had heard very clearly the pain that had been expressed and that 'to the full extent of my capacity I say that I am sorry... I want you to know that as a result of being with you this morning, my aversion to homophobia has grown. I know that many very good people have been deeply hurt, and I know that the Lord expects better of us.'” (Link to Carol Lynn Pearson's article follows) http://www.clpearson.com/Elder%20Marlin%20K.%20Jensen%20Listens%20to%20Prop%208%20Pain.pdf —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rawkcuf (talk • contribs) 21:08, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
"Some find him refreshing"
[edit]"Some view his public candor as a refreshing change from the often tight-lipped public image of general authorities."
I understand what you're getting at here, but this really needs some citation before going into the article. "Some view" is an appeal to imaginary authorities - try finding some type of quote. "The often tight-lipped public image(?)" is an unsubstantiated ad hominem: what evidence do you have that LDS general authorities are "tight-lipped," or even that this opinion is widespread?
