This entire article, and especially the 'songwriting' section, needs to be heavily edited for tone and content. Gotta agree with you there. Although the info about gear is interesting; this frankly seems like a load of B.S.

What a joke. This band is essentially a vessel for endless guitar noodling. Great noodling and excellent guitar, but acting like the compositions don't center around him .... sounds like guitar player syndrome to me :P Honestly the drums and bass are just mostly playing loops the whole time while he solos.
