Merge with Qrendi discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To move most of the section Qrendi#il-Maqluba to Maqluba (Malta), leaving a summary behind; to improve referencing. Klbrain (talk) 20:27, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- Merge - I created this page in response to a translation request on the WikiProject Malta page. I believe that the Il-Maqluba with its rich history, folklore and geological and environmental interest merits its own page and that the merging of the information from the Qrendi page would help to enrich this page while tidying up the Qrendi page. Beckettnoti (talk) 23:09, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- This protected and unusual area in Malta deserves its own article but certainly needs more work.Continentaleurope (talk) 23:55, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- Concur this can warrant a stand-alone article, with mainpage link from Qrendi, but additional sourcing and development would help. Also, based on the sources and from what seems to show up on searches, the article title should be Il-Maqluba rather than just Maqluba (Malta). Dl2000 (talk) 05:02, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed that it needs more work Continentaleurope & Dl2000, for the moment I have been working through the requests to translate pages on the WikiProject Malta page from French into English; I figure there will be Wikipedians with greater knowledge of geology, etc., who can improve the article further with their knowledge :) - do we know any geologists involved with the project? I'm fairly new, is there a way we can put out a request for improvement? Changing the title of the page makes sense - I am not sure how or if I can do this, though. At present I am generating pages as they are proposed on the WikiProject Malta page. Beckettnoti (talk) 09:16, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
Oppose merge Notable in its own right, the Qrendi article just needs a massive debloat and cleanup job.♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:33, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- To be clear, only proposing the section from Qrendi is merged and linked, not that the whole Qrendi article is subsumed! Beckettnoti (talk) 09:16, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- The merge tags have been modifed in each article to clarify the merge direction being proposed. Dl2000 (talk) 23:06, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you Dl2000 - making newbie errors! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beckettnoti (talk • contribs) 16:37, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Both articles can be kept but info in Qrendi article should be summarized and sourced. Thanks.Continentaleurope (talk) 16:11, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
