Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on August 21, 2019.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Manresa Island in Connecticut was used by the Jesuits as a retreat center before being developed as an electrical power plant?

Island or former island?

[edit]

In the initial version of this article, Manresa Island is described as a tied island, but a subsequent revision, the text was changed to describe it as a former island. Is a "tied island" by definition not an island?

The text of the article continues to refer to it as an island. Calling it a former island seems to be a case of WP:OR. Aside from this, saying that it's a former island is ambiguous, leaving one to wonder whether it has ceased to be an island or if it has actually ceased to be.
