Earlier incarnations?
[edit]I've stumbled across a Columbus Dispatch article from March 2000 discussing the use of Columbus Crew Stadium for a franchise from "Major League Football" (with 24 teams) that seems to be unrelated to this MLF. The article, which is behind a database paywall, says that the league was founded by Adam McLean and play a 14-game schedule. SounderBruce 06:10, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Planned/cancelled 2021 season
[edit]Wikibeamer, Would you like to explain here this revert? By your own edit, it says they no longer plan a 2021 season. Also, per WP:LONGQUOTE, WP:UNDUE, and WP:SUMMARY, we don't need the excessive quoting. They are easily summarized and the links are still there for reference. The full quote adds nothing of value other than wordiness. Yosemiter (talk) 17:15, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Proposing to delete this article
[edit]A majority of the links to this page are dead or non-existent. It's 2023, and this league that was founded in 2014 and has had several unsuccessful launches has never come to find a way to ever exist. conman33 (. . .talk) 07:14, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- The league had two launching attempts and had a pretty significant coverage throughout their existence, so I don't see any need to delete the article, especially since it had enough-of-significant effect to the football world. Also as of now, according to league leaders, they are trying to get back, so it might have a better "effect" in the future. Ccui123 (talk) 17:20, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
- I do believe that these articles and many articles of these minor league football leagues need to be deleted including this one, it keeps getting pushed back and it has has no significant media following obviously a scam Blake675 (talk) 02:56, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed and thank you. I just feel like if anything, this page is being updated most likely by people who are affiliated with the league. I don't see any interest outside of NFL/XFL/USFL and no mention in any news outlets, etc. conman33 (. . .talk) 02:16, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Agree with this and what Blake675 said. I think this article serves to legitimize or inflate a shell company even with the negative aspects being cited too. There's a yearly cycle with press releases of "serious talks" with TV and venues that probably corresponds to a pump and dump. I looked up their headquarters a while ago in one of their filings and I'm pretty sure it was just someone's house in a Florida development.
- Wikipedia is supposed to host articles about significant topics. There are companies/projects with significantly higher impacts on society and cash flows with articles that are way shorter than this one. Fish sounds (talk) 12:52, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Article title
[edit]Since there's a new article for the other league with the same name, I think it's appropriate that we'll change the name to reflect how the general public view the league. The "go-to" name which reference the league "starting date" is non-relevant in this case since the league had multiple starting dates. Also, and even more important, this league is a public company, ans its acronym representing the Ticker symbol ("traded as") - MLFB - which is more appropriate in this case.
