At some point, I think we'll need an article on "mainstream science", distinguishing those ideas which have been generally accepted among scientists at various points in history from fringe theories - especially when the latter eventually gained acceptance despite premature rejection.
On the other hand, if other editors think I'm riding a hobby horse on this, then I won't start the article. I might just link a few pages here first. --Uncle Ed (talk) 02:28, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
