Documentation
[edit]MailScanner is horribly underdocumented. There is a help 'wiki' which is vague and not very helpful. There is also a book you can buy if you fancy paying to use what is supposed to be free software. It's not a bad program once you figure it out, but it's a bit of a CPU hog. Who wrote this article?
[edit]It is horribly biased, i suspect it is written by mailscanner people. This needs a complete rewrite. --Benediktkr (talk) 14:23, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- In what way is it "horribly biased"? It seems reasonably descriptive, fair and sourced. Could you identify what you think is wrong with it? (By the way, to answer your title "Who wrote this article?", the answer is that, like all WP articles, the writing is open for anyone, yourself included, to contribute. If you look at its history, you'll see several different contributors. Feel free to join in!) Feline Hymnic (talk) 19:47, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Not long after the anti-phishing measure was introduced I noticed that Mailscanner was opening my emails before they arrived on my computer and corrupting the contents of genuine email messages by adding (without permission) bogus warnings. Sadly, real phishing emails are coming through totally untouched by Mailscanner. I have pointed this problem out in the article. It's a pity as the way this measure was implemented has damaged the reputation of an otherwise useful product. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.208.114.13 (talk) 10:42, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Unclear
[edit]It wasn't until the last sentence of the second section that realized it might not be appropriate to install this software on my home PC as anti-email spying. I suspect jargon is why. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CFCE:1EE0:109E:F0B8:D19C:3255 (talk) 10:16, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
