Is it worth mentioning the names provided by UAB?

[edit]

Do you guys think the article should also mention that the UAB calls the lines U1 and U2 instead of M11? I think it is at least worth a mention, would also like your input. ~eticangaaa (talk) 20:22, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Plain date or (Start date) template?

[edit]

On the page M11 (Istanbul Metro) the infobox is very wide and personally a bit visually appalling. This is due to the usage of the {{start date and age}} template. I was wondering if it is appropriate to remove the tag as it is a metro line that is not a historic line, and frankly takes up too much space. Or if there are other alternatives, such as using <small> to reduce the size of the stations that were opened at that date. Thanks in advance! ~eticangaaa (talk) 05:58, 29 February 2024 (UTC) Bazza 7 (talk) 14:05, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Eticangaaa: Simply stating dates is fine. But other things to consider are:
  • Using a compact date format is allowed when space is limited (MOS:DATEFORMAT); I have implemented this in the article.
  • MOS:ENBETWEEN allows unspaced use of dashes
  • Using small text is MOS:SMALLFONT not allowed.
  • None of the information about the four sections, their construction and opening dates are in the article. They should be, and that is also the place for their references. See MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE.
  • The infobox does not conform to MOS:COLOR: I removed colour from the text.
  • Some of the history dates given are in the future, so I have temporarily removed them from the infobox (WP:CRYSTAL).
