History section
[edit]I removed the following section because it it extremely unclear:
Apart from the general Chilean economic crisis, German capitals were frozen after pressure from the USA and their products were boycotted outside Chile.
Are we talking about German capital, as in investment money, or are we talking about cities in Chile with people of Germanic origin?
What references do we have to document the fact that the USA put on pressure, and where were products boycotted? Whose products were boycotted, Chilean products, products produced by Germanic people? Where were these boycotts implemented? My only recollection of boycotts is a New Zealand boycott of Chilean products in the 1990's -- if this is the case, it might be useful to specify how this affected Valdivia specifically. - I have also haed about "frozen german capital" (capital=money) by several persons but I have never asked for sources. when I got soyurces i will write about it in the Valdivia article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dentren (talk • contribs) 18:17, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Osorno proposals
[edit]I'm wondering if it is pertinent in an encyclopedia to have details about things which were proposed but never happened. In a few months or years probably no one in Osorno or Valdivia will even remember these details ... why would a casual reader, such as would consult Wikipedia care about something like this?
This was the reasoning behind my earlier removal of these details. Does anyone have any other thoughts about this? --JAXHERE | Talk 13:40, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I dont like to remove info, but you are right, the proposals to Osorno are details, as also the moving of Paillaco from Ranco Province into the new Valdivia Province. Maybe could both proposals have their own section in the article, something like "details", "trivia" or "proposed subdivitions"..
- As the article is now it needs a mayor cleanup. Dentren | Talk 18:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
