Stagnation? It was actually growing.

[edit]

The stagnation part is clearly false.

During the Austro-Turkish War (1663–64), the Ottoman Empire grew

During the Cretan War (1645–69), the Ottoman Empire grew

During the Polish–Ottoman War (1672–76), the Ottoman Empire grew Alexis Ivanov (talk) 15:28, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Ottoman empire did not suddenly go from a state of everything is growing / advancing to a state of everything is declining. The "stagnation" period is not about cherrypicking individual events, it is about the average effect of those events on the empire. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 15:59, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This wasn't a cherry picking, I was actually reading about the Ottoman Empire advance in the north right now, they were stagnating in the political sense MAYBE but not the Empire. The growth certainly stopped at 1683 even though they may acquired Yemen in the 19th century, but my point still stands the Empire was still growing and no way did it stagnate. Hotaki-Ottoman war is missing

[edit]

Where is the war between the Afghans and Ottomans during the mid 1700s? It needs to be added Akmal94 (talk) 01:54, 21 September 2020 (UTC) http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Ottoman%E2%80%93Hotaki_War_(1722%E2%80%931727)[reply]

Making a fresh, organised and easily navigable page

[edit]

The current page for this is just a lacklustre list with no additional information for the user, i.e a list not an encyclopedia. Therefore, I am formatting the page into a list similar to other lists of wars, such as the List of British wars, the List of wars involving the United States or the List of wars involving Germany. If anybody objects to the remaking of this page, please reply.

More than just a list of wars

[edit]

Article title is misleading as the page is also a list of sieges and battles Danial Bass (talk) 18:40, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish War of Independence

[edit]

The War of Independence was a partial victory as the Treaty of Lausanne imposed harsh peace conditions to the detriment of the Turks. 46.31.112.221 (talk) 07:52, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
