Song list not complete?
[edit]GameInformer.com states that the song list is not complete yet. "Aside from more than 45 songs from Metallica... there are also 21 songs from other bands that Metallica selected." This would put the song list around seventy songs, not fifty. http://gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/2ECEB70E-F784-4E4C-A84A-24A3EE6B47C5.htm I question the reliability of the source for the current info. RealUnrealRob (talk) 20:12, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Youre right, I would have to agree with you on that, I dont count 45 Metallica tunes on the list as it is Tubularbells1993 (talk) 00:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- I attribute this to a mistake in GI. Per [1] Metallica themselves revealed the full setlist, which was only 45 songs (additional songs coming from Death Magentic for PS2/Wii players), and is about the same number for GH:A. It's clearly "more than 45 songs" but not "more than 45 Metallica songs". --MASEM (t) 00:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
The Ecstasy of Gold
[edit]Anyone know if The Ecstasy of Gold will be a playable song? The original song is in the game's trailer, but Metallica's cover would be a great addition to the soundtrack. 71.10.89.175 (talk) 05:59, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- And Ride The Lightning was the tagline but that didn't make the cut...--67.34.181.210 (talk) 00:11, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Covers?
[edit]So far the GH games have just been using Masters so I'm sure this is a complete master game.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 21:27, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Early games used covers. We'll have to wait and see if the non-Metallica songs are covers, re-recordings, or what. --MASEM 21:32, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- The article makes it sound like some of the songs will definitely be covers; but Guitar Hero: World Tour, all of World Tour's DLC, and On Tour: Decades only give reason to assume that they're all masters. If the sources don't say anything, maybe the article shouldn't either. Chiphead (talk) 21:31, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it's more important (to the music affectionados) to know that all of the Metallica tracks are masters; the status of the others will be known in two months, so we'll just have to wait. --MASEM 23:10, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm just thinking they're all masters cuz Iron Maiden wasn't able to appear in it cuz of an issue with it's masters. There wouldn't be an issue with a cover.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 22:03, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- From what I have seen, the entirety of GH:M is master based. With "Evil" being a rerecord. Slayer has been confirmed as a master as well from a live video of Neversoft playing the beta.--CyberwasteFX (talk) 23:52, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Well they'd have to confirm one way or another soon... the game launches in less than a week Tubularbells1993 (talk) 15:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC) PROBABLY —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.57.40 (talk) 22:58, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
ace of spades
[edit]should it be noted that the version of ace of spades in the game is the 2008 rerecording? [2] 59.101.46.141 (talk) 09:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
yeah, you should note that. Estemshorn (talk) 18:41, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
album list
[edit]Why is a list of source albums not kosher? "We're not given that information", but I'm free to look it up and consolidate it right? Seems like it would be useful. Sorry if this is covered somewhere else. Ethan.shepherd (talk) 21:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- First, we don't have that information on the other GH lists, so it would be out of place here. Second in general, unless someone says "song X from album Y", we cannot necessarily connect "song X" to an album - the song might be a radio cut, it might be a live version, it might be a single first before it was on an album, it might be a second recording they did 10 years later and their preferred version, etc.. To avoid OR, we will go by what information is exactly given by the game. In the past the game will state years so that will be included, but the game has never stated albums before. If they happen to this time, sure we can add it, but we can't presume what albums at this point now. --MASEM 21:48, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Setlist
[edit]Could someone please change the list of songs in the article into two sections- Metallica and non-Metallica? I'd do it myself but I don't know how. Mrhighscore (talk) 21:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Unlikely. If you want to sort by band, click the icon in the "Artist" column header. --MASEM (t) 21:25, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
"Stone Cold Crazy" is a master
[edit]"Stone Cold Crazy" is a master. Look it up on YouTube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.215.28.173 (talk) 23:45, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Incomplete song list
[edit]Frantic (Metallica) is missing.
That's the only one.
I'm too lazy to get an account to fix it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.114.103.151 (talk) 22:20, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- Looks like it was removed from some vandalism. This was confirmed by sources, so fixed. --MASEM (t) 23:08, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
HOW MUCH
[edit]DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH THE GAME IS GOING TO BE
Done
[edit]Okay, now that we know all songs are masters, why don't we just remove the bolding and write "All songs are masters" Tubularbells1993 (talk) 18:25, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't seen a source to confirm this.. .as long as we have one, then certainly we can change that. --MASEM (t) 18:29, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- Pretty much all the songs are on YouTube now. Making it common knowledge. No source needed.--67.34.181.210 (talk) 00:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Free? Xbox songs.
[edit]Under the table it says "songs are available for free on Xbox 360 as the Guitar Hero: Metallica Demo", it should be clarified, as it sounds like the songs are only for Xbox, or for Xbox and PS3 and you have to pay on PS3. I assume that it means that there is a demo, and those songs are playable, if that is incorrect then there really should be a change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metal Health (talk • contribs) 00:31, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
This section
[edit]'The songs "Broken, Beat & Scarred", "Cyanide", and "My Apocalypse" from Metallica's album Death Magnetic will be featured on the Wii and PS2 versions of the game due to their inability to download the album.'
Is there supposed to be a NOT in there?3pointswish (talk) 01:19, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, the PS2/Wii versions of the game will get these songs, they are NOT on the 360/PS3 version. --MASEM (t) 02:07, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
For song sorting...
[edit]As with World Tour, the best way to sort the on-disk songs will be in the order they appear in the band tour mode (we'll also give the venue names since that's given in game). The game does give years but no albums, so that'll add two more columns to the current table.
If anyone either can supply the band order or a link to such, that would be great. --MASEM (t) 21:20, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Is it Ice Cave or Ice Cove? I think it's Ice Cove, not positive tho. ~~ riffrider —Preceding unsigned comment added by Riffrider (talk • contribs) 02:55, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
"Unreleased" template?
[edit]The article has a template on the top of the page saying it contains information about an unreleased game. I picked up my copy from GameStop earlier this morning, so it has indeed been released. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 02:31, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
