Adele's 21 6m claim LIST
Article quoted stated it had sold "just shy of 6 million". It is clearly UNDER NOT AT 6m.
We know it is certified for 5.1m sales ie 17x platinum.
ABBA Gold is certified 18x platinum ie 5.4m -- (Please Note -- 'ABBA Gold' got a 19th UK Platinum Award on Monday 10th August 2020. That is for UK Sales of 5,700,000. It has sold around 85,000 since then. Of which over 40,000 Sales, have been in 2021. Adele's '21' remains on 17 UK Platinum Awards. Its UK Sales, are estimated, at 5,200,000 to 5,250,000. Nowhere near, either 'Gold', or 'Sgt Pepper', which got its 18th UK Platinum Award, on Monday 10th August 2020. 'Greatest Hits' (One), by Queen, got its 22nd UK Platinum Award, on that same day). The 'Keeper' of this Page, really ought not to be so keen, to repeat the mistakes of the Official Charts Company. They make a lot of errors. Which Wikipedia copies, as if they are 100% Facts. No research is ever done, to check, on the accuracy, of what the Official Charts Company says. 81.103.92.196 (talk) 04:36, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
These are OFFICIAL SALES.
"Just shy of 6 million" is under 6m and not precise. Coachtripfan (talk) 12:21, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Adele's 21 -- Far From The UK's 2nd Best Selling Album
Adele's '21' is not the UK's Best Selling Album. It is still on 17 Platinum Awards, which means, that it has sold more than 5,100,000, but less than 5,400,000. It got its 17th Platinum Award on Friday 24th August 2018. Since then it has Charted for only 29 Weeks, with just one of them in the Top 40. As a contrast, 'ABBA Gold' got its 19th UK Platinum Award on Monday 10th August 2020. That was for UK Sales of 5,700.000. You still have it on 18 Platinum Awards, which is totally wrong. Since it got its 19th Platinum Award, 'Gold' has been in the UK Charts. Mostly in the Top 40. It is 100% impossible for '21' to now be placed 2nd, in the List of the UK's Best Selling Albums. It cannot possibly have suddenly gained the several 100,000 UK Sales, to put it above 'ABBA Gold'. You also have The Beatles 'Sgt Pepper on too low Platinum Awards. You still have it on 17. It got an 18th Platinum Award, on the same day as 'ABBA Gold'. That 1967 Beatles Album, is the UK's 3rd Best Selling 'All Time' Album. '21' by Adele, is still in 4th place, in that List. Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' got a 14th Platinum Award, on the same day. You still have it on 13. Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' got an 11th UK Platinum Award, on the same day - Monday 10th August. You still have it on 11. 'Tracy Chapman', by Tracy Chapman, got a 9th Platinum Award on that same day. You still have it on 8. The UK's Best Selling Album, by Queen - 'Greatest Hits' - got its 22nd UK Platinum Award on that same day - Monday 10th August 2020. You still have it on 21. The truth is, that your 'UK's Best Selling Albums' List, is a mess, and full of inaccuracies. Until it is tidied up, it can no longer be taken seriously. Certainly not to be used as a reference.81.103.92.196 (talk) 17:28, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
The article about Adele
1. Does NOT say 6m sales. Just close to...which is sloppy. Likely several hundred thousand from 6m
2. In the article NO REFERENCE TO "21" becoming 2nd best seller or sales of Gold or Sgt Pepper. Assumption it is 2nd best seller. NOT FACT Coachtripfan (talk) 21:38, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have reverted the article to its last stable version, with 21 being at number four on the list. I agree that there would probably have been a lot more coverage if it were now the second best-selling album ever, so I think we can assume that it isn't. As for the certifications issue, that column in the table has never claimed to contain the most recent certifications for each album. In fact, note e states that the certifications are only correct as of when they were last updated, in December 2018. I'll go through and update the certifications for each album whenever I next have the time, but, if anyone else would like to do it sooner than that, they would be more than welcome to. Adele sales ...corrected by Official Charts Company
The OCC has corrected the figure for 21 to 5.2m sales.
That is in the link you provide https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/artists-who-beat-the-second-album-slump__19500/
Please correct in Wikipedia too Coachtripfan (talk) 12:43, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
