Proposed merge of Forky into List of Toy Story characters

[edit]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Forky ended with that interested editors should start a merge discussion. Okay, so here we are. The Forky article is in the same poor state as during the AfD half a year ago (WP:NOTPLOT, WP:OR), and there is nothing noteworthy here that isn't in the character list, esentially making this a bloated stub. The only good reason to keep it as a stand-alone article is if someone says he'll improve it to pass as a WP:SPINOFF. So, any volunteers? Otherwise, I'll redirect it to the LoC soon. – sgeureka tc 11:44, 11 January 2020 (UTC)2020 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article include characters in Lightyear (2022)?

[edit]

Should this article include characters in Lightyear (2022) or not? Tamptonato (talk) 08:42, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

it should, Lightyear (2022) is a part of the franchise, as noted by its opening credits. Tomeka2 (talk) 09:53, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article include Sputnik's launch?

[edit]

I was wondering if I could make edits to the Toy Story 2 section for Sputnik's launch, the manufacturer, and the launcher of the satellite. I think it's both RSC Energia and Roscosmos. 2603:6011:AF44:8F00:41E6:BE03:6F98:491E (talk) 14:16, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why we would need to specify that. What was written here was an excessive level of detail that was irrelevant to Prospector. If readers want to know more about Sputnik, they can simply click on the Sputnik link that's already in the article.  AJFU  (talk) 15:19, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is relevant to Prospector. It might be excessive, but it isn't irrelevant, it's completely relevant to me, about Sputnik's launch onboard an R7-derived launch vehicle, the predecessor of the current-day Soyuz rocket series, and how it affected the Americans and Prospector. --2603:6011:AF44:8F00:DCF3:DD48:D55F:6E0B (talk) 22:04, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is utterly irrelevant, though, to anyone who isn't you. Like AJFU said, the Sputnik link is right there. 2A00:23C6:41B2:8201:B8A4:6CF0:24D6:290B (talk) 18:18, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish voice actor for Buzz in Lightyear (2022)

[edit]

I don't quite see the point to list the Spanish dub actor in an English article:

"Chris Evans in Lightyear and Javier Fernández-Peña in Spanish mode)"

Not making an edit because perhaps there is a reason this is included. Also I don't think "mode" fits this context either. Tomeka2 (talk) 09:55, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Debian connection?

[edit]

Is it perhaps worth mentioning the fact that Debian follows a convention that names its releases after Toy_Story characters, and if so where would that fit?

BTW since Debian needs to avoid spaces in the names and wants them to be short, the naming is not always 1:1, so The Aliens became squeeze, Little Bo Peep became just bo etc. --Phil Hands (talk) 07:24, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
