Attempted rescue of article

[edit]

Due to current AFD, I have attempted a rescue of the article to ensure it complies with standards (MOS, etc.) and taking into account concerns raised in AFD thus far. Summary of changes will be as follows:

  • Removed all individuals without accompanying article (per lead: List of notable Polish lawyers).
  • Removed all individuals not stated in their articles to be lawyers. (These may be re-added if references provided on subject's articles prove individuals can be described as lawyers).
  • Added individuals from accompanying category.
  • Added birth/deaths per MOS.
  • Removed the few inline references as these were all for individuals with accompanying articles (MOS: "References are not required since the article that the entry is linked to should include citations.").

As the article lead clearly states notability (per our definition) is the threshold for inclusion, additions should not be made to the list if no accompanying article exists or is likely to be created. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 14:16, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

I added some references back to the article, because the AfD nomination is in part based upon it being unsourced. Removing the sources actually serves to support the nomination to delete. Here's the AfD nomination wording:

"I became aware of this list after writing an article about one of the persons listed here. It's a huge unsourced alphabetical dump of mostly redlinked names with no further information or context. It might be useful in user or project space as a to-do list if anybody is interested, but as a mainspace article I don't see the point of it in this form (not to mention the possible WP:BLP issues)." Plus, the references provide verification for some of the people in the list. Northamerica1000(talk) 06:07, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the article originally consisted of a vast swathe of redlinked or non-linked names meaning one had no idea who the individuals were. That is no longer the case as I've gotten rid of everything that didn't have an accompanying article. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 06:40, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is acceptable to have entries that are not blue-linked, as long as they have appropriate refs.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:09, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
