Notability Criteria not followed

[edit]

Hi,

The wiki page on the list of Indian Institute of Technology Madras Alumni, has a "notability policy not followed". I am a student Representative of the Office of Alumni Relations at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. I am absolutely sure that the Alumni mentioned on the page are the most notable Alumni of IIT Madras that we at the Alumni Office know of. My question simply is how exactly do I define a notable Alumnus? Most of the work they do isn't readily sourcable on the Internet, however these people hold very high posts at reputed Institutions around the world. Isn't it simply enough for these people to hold such high posts to be notable? Apologies if the signature below isn't of the required format. I'm new at this. :) 203.124.220.68 (talk) 06:36, 6 June 2014 (UTC) Ama. 6 June 2014. 12:00 PM[reply]
