Regeneration of central section
[edit]The article states that Linckia can regenerate a central section and arms from a single severed arm. Since the mouths of starfish are located underneath the central section, the single detached arm is presumably unable to feed during this time. How does the starfish get enough nutrients to rebuild the other parts? Does the arm shrink to provide material for building the other parts, or does it have another way of assimilating nutrients? --Pyrochem (talk) 22:23, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
