Osan Air Base

[edit]

In Osan Air Base they have named a street (Millett Rd) after COL Millett. It runs up Hill 180, the very hill up which he led his bayonet charge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heinous (talkcontribs) 10:02, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Opening sentence seems to be incorrect.

[edit]

It states he "was awarded the Medal of Honor during the Korean War for leading the last major American bayonet charge" the citation speaks to many other more important points. For example rallying his troops, the ferocity of the attack breaking the will of the enemy, remaining exposed to fire, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.79.133.106 (talk) 11:31, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Close Paraphrasing of non-free source

In particular, his WaPo obit: http://www.webcitation.org/5lVDOw97T. TallNapoleon (talk) 10:05, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This was a close call; I've rewritten some of the material. The duplication detector will still find some overlap, but most of it arises from the 29=09 word phrase copied form the Medial of honor citation. This is properly quoted and cited, and should be pd, so not a problem.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 17:19, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed RECONDO Nonsense

[edit]

The Washington Post obituary was incorrect when it stated Millett helped found a RECONDO School that trained personnel for Vietnam. He was actually the commander of the first RECONDO School established by the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY in 1959. I provided a new reference consisting of an interview with COL Millett establishing the timeline.John Simpson54 (talk) 16:31, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
