GenG's 4th LCK title
[edit]MVP Ozone won the LCK Spring 2013, then Samsung acquired it and renamed to Samsung Ozone (which later is Samsung White). If Samsung Blue's championship (formerly MVP Blue) is counted for GenG, then why MVP Ozone's is not? The team created by MVP in 2015 has nothing to do with the 2 teams acquired by Samsung. - This was changed in 2022, when Gen.G themselves requested to the LCK officials to separate MVP and Samsung history, don't know what exactly was the reason behind this, and now only the history since September 2013 is inherited by Gen.G. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:53, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! Could you please show me the source? This is the first time I've heard about it. Thank you Ctdbsclvn (talk) 16:31, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't found out any article about that. If you don't mind, please give me a trustful source about GenG asking for the separation of MVP from its history and we can end the argument here. Ctdbsclvn (talk) 16:43, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- I don't remember and cannot find a source now, it was probably on Twitter, and both Korean Wikipedia and NamuWiki articles have it separated like that as well. You won't find a reliable source claiming that Gen.G won 4 titles either, if anything they would say that Gen.G has only 2 LCK titles, not 3 or 4, so the whole table is unsourced and based on WP:OR anyway. On Namu Wiki it says "2022년까지 잠정적으로 역사가 이어지는 것으로 인식되어 있었지만 2023년부터 Gen.G Esports에서 삼성 갤럭시의 MVP 인수를 해체 후 재창단으로 규정하며 두 팀의 역사는 단절되었다", but I cannot find any reliable source confirming this. - It could be because Samsung White (formerly MVP Blue) didn't have any relevant to the previous team (roster, managers, etc) so they requested such thing. Thank you for your information. Ctdbsclvn (talk) 16:56, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
