Landtag Styria → Landtag of Styria – The current title of this article is grammatically incorrect when following English grammar rules. While "Landtag Styria" aligns with German conventions, English Wikipedia adheres to English grammar. Saying "Landtag Styria" is as incorrect as saying "Mayor New York City" instead of "Mayor of New York City." To omit "of", the title would need to be "Styria Landtag". Furthermore, there is no official translation that uses "Landtag Styria", which would be the only valid justification that comes to mind for adopting this unconventional form. –Tobias (talk) 16:28, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

While there is no official translation, the current title was selected as it is the WP:COMMONNAME in English (see cited sources). I'm not sure that two sources are enough to establish that "Landtag Styria" is the COMMONNAME. Also, one of them uses "Styrian Landtag" alongside "Landtag Styria". Comment, there is no WP:COMMONNAME for this article or any other Landtag in Austria, as the English name is used too rarely and no official translation exists. An Ngrams search shows no results for any of the styles. @Buidhe was the only other editor involved in the reverts of Landtag Burgenland and this article, which were originally initiated by @Jeffrey34555 before my involvement. I would like to hear their thoughts on this issue as well. It depends how many sources you think are necessary to establish the most common translation. There are several English language sources just on Google Scholar, not counting other reliable sources. Additionally, it seems to be the official translation used by the EU[1] (t · c) buidhe 14:54, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The contents of your link were machine translated. I don't think we can consider than a "official translation". In terms of numbers, if we exclude results from Wikipedia, then a search for "Landtag of Styria" returns 252 results, a search for "Styrian Landtag" returns 223 results, and a search for "Landtag Styria" returns 39 results. Hey there, I was the one who originally tried to move this article to "Landtag of Styria". I still believe that the current title is grammatically incorrect (as per nom), and I used an example of "Parliament Canada and Parliament of Canada" to justify why I changed it in my conversation with @Buidhe.
