- Comment, sounds like we're generating a name here, as I cannot find any authoritative (i.e. non-WP:USERGEN hiking) English-language sources. While English-speaking countries usually have "Lake" last for their own lakes (but not always like the Great Lakes). Lakes in and around Italy, if they have English names, usually have "Lake" first, so it is understandable to use it first. But it appears there is no WP:COMMONNAME in English, nor any consistency among Italian lake articles, therefore should we WP:USENATIVE? Which I assume per sources is Lago Charey? But I am aware French is also official in Aosta Valley, so the current may be neutral. (Although someone on OpenStreetMaps renamed it as "Charrey"?) DankJae 18:13, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- I understand and I've just found an English-language source here, where we have "Lake Charey". I suppose it's the only source. I completely agree about the fact that a neutral way should be found in order to respect the official bilingual status of Aosta Valley. I've just looked up on the géonavigateur of the Aosta Valley, the official toponym is "Charey". Thank you for your help. Simoncik84 (talk) 11:52, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
