Comparison to Nordic countries

[edit]

Instead of referencing one LGBT travel site[1] that covers single events from the past years, you should present for example some international polls that clearly show differences between Finland and Nordic countries in attitudes towards gay people. For example, the resignation of Vicar Marja-Sisko Aalto and other major events should be written in separate paragraphs or on the timeline.

+The first paragraph is supposed to summarize situation — mention BOTH legal protection AND major anti-LGBT events. -- 94.101.2.145 (talk) 23:43, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Åland

[edit]

Åland has autonomy, does it include marriage legislation? (ie. does gay marriage become legal in Åland when it does in the rest of Finland?).--Batmacumba (talk) 19:41, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have since found the answer to my question. Family law is not delegated to Åland, but they have to look into whether gay marriage would affect some of the inheritance and property law elements that are delegated, but this should be easy to clarify before gay marriage takes effect in Finland. Åland is more socially liberal than mainland Finland, so there will be no obstruction.--Batmacumba (talk) 20:48, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Batmacumba: If you'd like to put the above into the article, that would be appreciated. LGBT rights in Åland redirects here, but the word "Åland" does not appear anywhere in the article. 71.41.210.146 (talk) 17:51, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
