Rumors that he's of Romani descent

[edit]

I hear all the time that Mitroglou is of Romani/Gitano descent but I cannot verify it. Be aware that the region of Kavala has Gitanos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.242.16.95 (talk) 11:30, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because it's so obvious in all aspects (face, accent, surname) that nobody cares to explain it. Especially about his surname is turkish and means in turkish "the son of a gipsy/gitano/roma" (call it whatever you 'd like). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.107.46.96 (talk) 09:05, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think Mitroglou doesn't speak greek

[edit]

Sorry man but what you've written about Mitroglou's use of Greek language is a joke! I watched Mitroglou being interviewed by a Greek journalist and the whole thing was done with the help of a translator because Mitroglou didn't understand a thing in Greek! Maybe you should change it!--Goldimit 19:38, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What language does he speak then? Spiderone (talk) 16:29, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Im not sure what you were watching but he does speak Greek. These two interviews were done in Greek and there is no hint that he once didn't speak the language. By these accounts he sounds (and is)a native Greek speaker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDtdHfs4WxA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JZJW3PxnX0 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.80.129 (talk) 14:27, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The "Greek Agbonlahor"???

[edit]

First of all Agbonlahor is not known in Greece so why would anyone call Mitroglou like that? Secondly, what exactly do Agbonlahor and Mitroglou have in common so that someone could make a comparison between them?--Goldimit 19:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mitroglou cannot score penalties even in practice

[edit]

The remark about him not being able to score a penalty kick even in practice is obviously a spiteful remark not only for Mitroglou but also for any professional striker appearing constantly to the line-up of his national side. Anyone who "cannot score penalties even in practice" does not become a striker and certainly does not become an international striker. Utter fabrication, with no reference and useless unless someone wants to harm his reputation.

He has recently been criticized for taking a crucial penalty against Spain and missing it

[edit]

Refers to an isolated event from an isolated game. Certainly does not describe him or his career at this or any other point.

Birthplace

[edit]

Mitroglou was born in Kavala, Greece and moved to germany with his family 1 year later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.68.198.105 (talk) 23:37, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Some people may notice that I just added the image of Mieszko IV Tanglefoot here. That's because I thought that I had copied the right one (which it looks like I hadn't) and I accidentall pressed save.--94.65.145.7 (talk) 15:53, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
