Fédération Aéronautique Internationale certification?

[edit]

I wasn't aware that the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale certified aircraft. They usually just deal with records and leave certification up to national airworthiness authorities. Can someone confirm this? - Ahunt (talk) 20:05, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It does not sound right, but I'm not sure what certification authority there was in pre-war Poland. It was a first hand article in the August 1958 sport aviation written by Michael Offierski, test pilot from the program, said "I took it before the F.A.I. Commission to have it certified as a motorglider" It's probably too obscure to find a second article for verification FlugKerl (talk) 06:06, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That does sound odd and it may be a translation or interpretation error by the original article writer, but perhaps you can add the citation to the article? That whole section is not referenced right now. - Ahunt (talk) 11:35, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
