Capacity and status

[edit]

This article is somehow confusing. First, according to the original article it has installed capacity of 550 kW, which makes it micro hydrostation. However, according to the different available sources it is a large power station. There is information that it will have two Kaplan turbines 51 MW each. Secondly, according to the different sources, the construction was negotiated between Iran and USSR and started in late 1980s. It was stoped and restarted only few years ago. Currently, it seems to be under construction, not operational. Beagel (talk) 17:25, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I added the coords last year and on Google Earth, the titles of numerous pictures around it are consistent with that being the dam, along with the described location. According to the Farsi Wiki article the dam was completed in 2008/9 and it looks recently completed on Google Earth. Ill have to do more research when time permits.--NortyNort (Holla) 01:28, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

It seems that the name is misspelled (although some sources use the same spelling). Most of the sources uses Khoda Afarin Dam or Khodaafarin Dam. I think it would be proper to rename this article accordingly. Beagel (talk) 17:25, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ill do some research on this too. The user who created this article misspelled a few others, usually by adding a space in between two words. Given the lack of English sources, I don't think it is a significant problem to have a slightly, possibly, incorrect name though.--NortyNort (Holla) 01:34, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am not concerned so much about the space between two words but most of sources seem to have 'a' after 'f' which is missing in the current title. Beagel (talk) 05:08, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely agree with the 'a' after 'f'. Khoda Afarin County uses it as well. Interestingly, the Khodaafarin Bridges has no space but most English sources I see have the space or a hyphen.--NortyNort (Holla) 02:08, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I moved it to Khoda Afarin Dam per missing 'a' and added the alternative spelling Khodaafarin info brackets. Beagel (talk) 08:53, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
