Dnevnik

[edit]

The web-translate failed you @Durraz0:. "Dnevnik" is a term for daily news, not diary/blog. Thus, it should make sense that it was published soon after the event, as well as the term "terrorist" being used as this is how they are often described in Macedonian media. The source may be biased, but that doesn't alone mean it's unreliable. Also, the latest version of this article as edited by you uses this source to back the claim of helicopters on the government side. --Local hero talk 22:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for clearifying. we have albanian sources(Dëshmorët e kombit) about all the casualties of the UCK both in macedonia, kosovo ,serbia, north albanian etc, which does not mention any casualties in karaplak. neither does any albanian media that i could find online. it seems dubious that the day after an ambush the casualites of the enemies whcih they refer to as "terrorists" would be known. it seems more fitting that they would know about their own casualites and strength. It seems odd to disqualify a source from backing one claim but use it to back another. --Local hero talk 17:47, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any other source that covers the rescue efforts or even reports casualties among the Albanian rebels during the event? Otherwise, it is odd that no other Macedonian source which I've encountered mentions this. The closest I could find is this source, although it is decades after and does not mention helicopters. I would not mind the removal of the claim about 2 helicopters too. StephenMacky1 (talk) 21:36, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did a brief search as well. Let's remove it altogether then. --Local hero talk 00:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

Hello. I propose that "2001 anti-Albanian protests" be merged into this article since the same information is already covered in the sub-section Anti-Albanian incidents. I do not think it is necessary to have a separate article about the aftermath of the ambush. StephenMacky1 (talk) 14:26, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, no need for a standalone article on that piece. Thanks for identifying this. --Local hero talk 01:53, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
