My13 logo

Is anyone here from Southern California? If so, could you verify an anon's recent claim that KCOP is now using the My 13 logo? To verify, replace the current infobox image with Image:Kcop mntv.jpg and indicate your verification in the edit summary. You may also clean up the rest of the article. I would suggest bringing it up at Template talk:Infobox Broadcast as it will affect multiple articles and is likely to be controversial. Morgan Wick 20:56, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Where are the station logos?

I returned to the KCOP page to do some edits and I noticed that the logo gallery is gone. What happened to it? I am asking whoever put it up originally to please restore it. - Desmond Hobson 18:37, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

News graphics anomaly?

Can someone verify or elaborate on the following anomaly that happened yesterday (October 13) during the wildfire coverage?

Now I will swear that about 17:00, the KTTV news coverage was switched to KCOP with an odd grpahics change: While the coverage continued using the KTTV news graphics, the rotating FOX logo on the lower right of the screen had the "HD" designation that all stations use. Curious since I was watching the analog transmission, I tuned to the digital transmission (with my converter box) but found that is was only using the 4.3 aspect ratio and most likely NOT high-definition. Will someone verify if the transmission was NOT Hi-Def?--Kevin586 (talk) 17:50, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I saw the same thing myself...it was in the 4:3 ratio, definitely not in high-def. When KTTV did their postgame report (after the Phillies-Dodgers game), and the 10pm newscast, they went back to the regular graphics. Maybe they were planning on launching the news in HD (on both 11 and 13) yesterday, but because of the fire coverage, they're holding back for a short while. ShawnHill 20:26, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Call letters

The call letters for channel 13 are not KCOP-TV. The only way the FCC will grant a -TV call sign is if there is an AM or FM station using the same call letters; the FCC does not automatically append "-TV" to a TV station's call letters. Since the original call letters were issued to Copley Press in 1954 there has never been an AM station with the call letters KCOP nor a KCOP-FM. In the L.A. market, KCBS-TV, KABC-TV and KCAL-TV have the -TV suffix because there is an AM or FM station (or both) using those call letters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.12.176.20 (talk) 13:08, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
