Jurong Town station was renamed to Jurong in September 1984, and later renamed to Jurong East in March 1987. Try the less verbose Jurong Town station was renamed to Jurong in September 1984 and to Jurong East in March 1987.
Maybe "brought forward" instead of "pushed earlier" or "pushed forward"?
An opening ceremony was held at the station to inaugurate 6.4-kilometre (4.0 mi) MRT extension missing an article (a or the) after "inaugurate"
