Why "low importance"?

Why is this article rated of “low importance”? Aside from being thorough and well-written (I made no contribution), as I pointed out years ago on the main Spanish Civil War article, the rebels taking Seville was of critical importance without which the coup might well have failed. Without Seville and its nearby air force base, Franco would have not been able to get his Moroccan army to the mainland as the sea routes were defended by the Spanish Republican Navy which did not join the coup. Originally, the main article stated that at the outset of the coup attempt the rebels seized no major cities (Seville was within the five largest cities in Spain) and I corrected this by writing “with the critical exception of Seville...”

I've amended the rating to "High importance"—this was part of the nationwide coup d'état that precipitated the Spanish Civil War. As the lede says, the successful coup in Seville was of vital importance for the rebels nationwide. By the way, anyone can change an article rating, per the editing guideline WP:ASSESS: "Anyone can add a quality assessment below GA-class, regardless of WikiProjects. Thank you so much for both this and your help with my admittedly clumsy edit on the main article for the Spanish Civil War. It is my hope that with your kind help with that edit that this sub-article will get more views as more will come to know it even exists. As I said, I had nothing to do with this splendidly detailed article on one of the most important events of the early days of the war; indeed, of the entire war as without the success of the coup in Seville there might well not have been a war at all, but rather just a short failed coup attempt. Therefore, I think this article deserves more prominence than it thus far has engendered due to, I would guess, lack of exposure. The change on the main article might well lend it more deserved reads.

Hello Carlstak, HistoryBuff14 (talk), nice to know some people see this piece of mine as an interesting one. I am also fairly satisfied with it, though surely it can be improved; I think I relied too much on Leitão Prazeres as the key source, I failed to find more specific data as to forces involved and casualties suffered, I am still not sure when Queipo gave his first charla (various sources give different dates), perhaps a section on post-coup administration would be nice, I tried to comb out of Spanish hemerotecas photos of key protagonists, but found only Villa and Varela (Loureiro? Allanegui?).

As to the “importance” issue, I am not sure what it is all about. I mean, what is the practical impact of this scale. I have always thought this impact is zero and I still can not see how higher “importance grade” could translate into more page views, more interwiki links or whatever. So, I have never cared about what “importance grade” some people assign to the articles I release. Actually, I rather fear higher “importance grades”, as I suspect they might attract, egh, “corrections”, usually by people who might leave an “unimportant article” to its fate, but who feel urgent need to improve “important article” (and surely, no-one will lower oneself to improve my clumsy English).
