Disambiguation

[edit]

In addition to the questions already raised, there's also the issue of there being two "Josh Blaylock"s: the 30-year-old comic book publisher, and the 17-year-old actor (No Country for Old Men). Both seem "notable". - JasonAQuest (talk) 21:06, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I support the Disambiguation too - I kept getting hits for the comic guy while looking for articles. TaoPhoenix (talk) 02:36, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting?!

[edit]

Quit reverting the page! This is Wikipedia at its worst. Josh Blaylock just broke into public view on Warehouse 13, so he's no longer a 1-hit wonder only known for a web series. TaoPhoenix (talk) 11:19, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide reliable third parties sources which comment on his notability and discuss his appearance in the "public view"? 117Avenue (talk) 23:51, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How about some of these?
The Warehouse 13 story arc I mentioned earlier.

Here is a clip about the VGHS premiere party held at the YouTube production space.

He married his VGHS co-star Johanna Braddy. Here is their wedding website.

Basically all "up and coming" actors are going to be in this category. I think he's right on the edge of being a "breakout". TaoPhoenix (talk) 02:30, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Only the first is a third party source, and it doesn't talk about him. 117Avenue (talk) 23:11, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Restoring the page, as actor has starred in the lead role of two major productions, appeared in a best picture film, has had an establish indie acting career, and is the spouse of a notable and increasingly famous person. If sources presented are problematic, find better sources. I've already found two sources with just mild digging. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 22:11, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
None of the things you have listed are criteria for notability of persons. Please read WP:BIO, WP:N, and WP:THIRDPARTY. Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 01:39, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This is an edit war that should be resolved at discussion here or AFD. Atlantic306 (talk) 01:41, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this is an edit war, but noone has responded to my requests for better references. 117Avenue (talk) 04:09, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the contentious sources. The remaining four sources are secondary. How many do you believe are needed? This topic isn't easily searchable. For example, typing in 'Josh Blaylock Red Dead Redemption' gives 3,900 results. Most of which are from forums and wikis discussing his involvement in the game. If there are interviews from reliable sources, it's practically impossible to find them. I'll e-mail the article's subject and see if he can direct me to any interviews hes been involved in. I'm a little confused about Avenue's policing of this one particular article, though. Almost everyone involved in the VGHS web series has a Wikipedia page, and most of them have problems with first party sources. See: Johanna Braddy. Why is this one person of special interest? As for me, when I go to punch in a rather known actor's name in Wikipedia, and the article is being camped and consistently deleted, it makes me very curious... In the years I've tapered off using Wikipedia, it's slowly become less a bastion of eclectic information, and more a playground for banal and arbitrary politics. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 10:56, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I used to watch the other persons involved with VGHS. But their articles eventually degraded, and I stopped caring, so I removed them. But since there was no article here, I kept this one. Thanks for the Allen Image source, I'm sorry I didn't see it in my last revert, or when I tagged the article. Was it too much to ask for one reliable source? 117Avenue (talk) 04:53, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not many magazines have had an interest in covering him, most of what's available online is just fan stuff. I'm not sure why someone would be so dead-set on removing his page, though. It's pretty clear this is a notable person.
There's no established criteria for just how much sourcing is needed. However, Blaylock as notable per WP: Notability, Additional Criteria, Entertainers, 2,3: "Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions. Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following." That's established by sources here already, but they could definitely use reinforcement. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 07:22, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

His photography?

[edit]

I don't see a link to Josh's photography blog, but perhaps I missed it? If there isn't one there, should we add one? And I think a photo of him might be helpful too, if it's possible to find a recent and recognizable one. Madelinebaines (talk) 23:06, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

His Birthdate

[edit]

His bio on IMDB and several sources such as MarriedBiography, celebrityborn confirmed that his birth date is March 29? 1990. I try to add source for his birthdays. Can someone please help me referencing the sources for his bday? Thanks. 104.34.108.44 (talk) 06:05, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

All of these are user submitted, like Wikipedia, and cannot be trusted. Please read WP:BLP and WP:V. Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 23:31, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Okay. Gotcha. Thanks. 104.34.108.44 (talk) 03:02, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
