DOD in the article is from www.sports-reference.com, but I cannot confirm this from a second source. Middle name appears to be confirmed, but behind a paywall here. There is a "Joseph J. Erxleben" in this old Houston paper] with blurbs about real estate transactions which likely confirms that he resided in Texas. An Ancestry.com link shows a "Joseph J.
