Hybrid name

[edit]

If it is José Ángel, why not Iríbar? Is it one of those hybrid names, like Carlos Garaikoetxea and Karlos Arguiñano? The LFP page has Iribar, though. --Error 21:18, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering about this myself. I think your explanation is probably the correct one. Thunderbird2 12:06, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is a Basque surname; it follows the Academy of Basque Language's ortographic rules (there are no '´'s in that language). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.46.206.128 (talk) 22:40, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

Even though Iribar is a known basque nationalist, right now the Basque Country is part of Spain. So the current Iribar`s nationality is Spanish, not Basque.
