So.. I know he's boring, but..

[edit]

Somebody fucked up Fitch's record filling in all of the wins and losses with unanimous decisions... Even his first fight with Alves. I dunno, somebody might wanna fix it...

Haha, ya I just noticed this, came here to say the same.

... what's the difference? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.88.162.62 (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm cleaning up this article a bit. It had lots of "recently" that were not recently, and a few broken and missing links. Also added the information about tying Royce Gracie's record for consecutive wins and Dana White's comments about Fitch being in line for a title shot.Jdjohnson920 (talk) 18:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fighting style

[edit]

Want to get some opinions on adding a fighting style section to the article. The view that Fitch is a boring fighter is held by many MMA analysts and fans. Portillo (talk) 07:21, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's my opinion, that regardless if many people find Fitch's style to be "boring", it's too POV'ish to be considered as an entry into an encyclopedia. I don't happen to find Fitch boring, so obviously it isn't something that everyone agrees on. That said, I guess it could be possible that you could write something not so POV'ish. I'm just very sensitive to people writing about how this guy is boring or that guy is super exciting, etc. etc. I noticed you had some sources when you tried the first time, it might be useful (if you insist on writing this section) to try and keep it simple and maybe just "quote" the sources instead of trying to paraphrase it thereby unintentionally adding a spin to it. Anyway, I'm glad you brought this to the talk page, and sorry I reverted your first attempt but it seemed pretty POV'ish. If you're willing to maybe set up a rough draft here on the talk page, I'm happy to try and offer some assistance in helping it achieve a more neutral tone. Is it really POV when the mainstream media are discussing it? I mean technically, any opinion is a point of view. Portillo (talk) 23:47, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really that important for you to put a matter of opinion into an encyclopedic article? Dachknanddarice (TC) 15:19, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes why not. It is constantly discussed in the media and amongst fans. And can be backed up by sources. Portillo (talk) 22:45, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you take as much care to find sources and add sections like this to: Georges St. Pierre, Jake Shields, King Mo' Lawal, Josh Koscheck, and pretty much any fighter who has ever trained any sort of wrestling ever in their lives. I think this is extremely POV'ish to single out one fighter and add this to his article and I do not support this at all. Do whatever you want, peace. This guy can't finish a ham sandwich. Can we get that into the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.88.162.62 (talk) 09:06, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even Dana White admits thats Fitch is a boring fighter. 1 Portillo (talk) 04:31, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Most Decisions in the UFC.

[edit]

He may have the most decisions as far as being within the UFC, but should it be noted that Chael Sonnen has fifteen decision victories in his MMA career? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.87.142.131 (talk) 09:29, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decisions being wiped?

[edit]

Someone wiped the details of most of his decision wins from telling whether it was unanimous or split to just saying decision. I'm not sure why, but if there's not a reason, it should be brought back. PEiP (talk) 07:44, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
