Page number needed
[edit]Seeing as this is a BLP, the page number is needed for the Ian S. Wood reference regarding the UDA-UVF feud. Thanks.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 16:16, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Good spot. I've added the page number. Warofdreams talk 22:28, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
"Known as Mr F"
[edit]This is misleading as Dillon is the only person who refers to Graham as "Mr F"-in his own books.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 18:35, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. I've had a go at rewording the sentence in light of this. Do you think it's accurate and still useful? Warofdreams talk 22:28, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- It's perfect.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 05:30, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
UDA membership
[edit]I have removed opening paragraph which states:
"Graham grew up in the Shankill Road area of Belfast, and became active in the Shankill Defence Association (SDA). When the SDA became part of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), he was one of the thirteen colonels who sat on its Inner Council, on which he represented the Shankill.[3]"
which cites David Boulton's The UVF, 1966-73: An Anatomy Of Loyalist Rebellion, p161.
In fact, there is nothing on page 161 to suggest, beyond the name, that it is the same John Graham reputed to be UVF Chief of Staff. Among a list of UDA "Colonels" it simply mentions "...John Graham, a former SDA man (Shankill)...". Graham is one of the most common surnames in Northern Ireland, and I need hardly mention the ubiquity of "John". Indeed, the Provisional IRA had an activist named John Graham - see this page. Assumption of identity is synthesis as defined here, so I have removed it until a firm link can be proved. --Shipyard Special (talk) 11:42, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
