Coatrack

[edit]

This article doesn't contain any biographical inforamtion, and appears to mostly concern some court cases. I don't see anything here that wouldn't be more relevant in another article. I suggest removing the opinions and adding biographical information. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 02:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the need to remove material about prominent court cases, but agree with you that we need to have more bio material about the person. I will see what I can find. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 00:28, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is some good material here: "Outspoken judge draws praise, respect". Retrieved 2008-10-23. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 00:36, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article has improved enough so I'm removing the coatrag tag. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:17, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity

[edit]
This is unsourced speculation that is going nowhere. Acroterion (talk) 03:07, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

His ethnicity ought to be included somewhere, no? 24.214.90.212 (talk) 00:15, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Its should be extremely concerning to everybody that there are people who want to remove ethnicity and race from public life like it ain’t fundamentally apart of who we are. Its a major major disrespect when somebody tells me that me being black don’t matter none. 2600:4040:E08E:C00:4870:3A7:2206:F710 (talk) 03:09, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We generally don't mention someone's ethnicity unless it has a significant bearing on their life. Would you demand that someone of ethnic Irish parentage be explicitly mentioned, or Presbyterian, unless they were notable for either? Acroterion (talk) 03:24, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Why change it now after all these years? 47.197.241.28 (talk) 12:27, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It was added yesterday, without a reference. Acroterion (talk) 17:30, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
why was it deleted ?? 79.119.50.82 (talk) 14:49, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's perfectly fine to have, but is there a source for the claim, I can't find anything LachlanTheUmUlGiTurtle (talk) 18:35, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Then it isn't "perfectly OK." Acroterion (talk) 00:18, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What's with the attitude? I'm agreeing it shouldn't be there without a source, but it's perfectly fine to list ethnicity and religious upbringing. LachlanTheUmUlGiTurtle (talk) 05:25, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is a biography of a living person, subject to the biographies of living persons policy, for someone who is viewed with enmity by some people, and which has been protected for that reason. Find a source first, don't posit theories. This is compulsory. I've already removed bigoted trolling by an IP from this talkpage, please don't feed the trolls. Acroterion (talk) 14:02, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What are you talking about? I've done no "feeding" of trolls here, or "positing theories". An edit was wrongfully added without a source, and then wrongfully removed saying ethnicity shouldn't be mentioned in the edit notes. It deserves to be removed but for the correct reason, this is absolutely not controversial to say. LachlanTheUmUlGiTurtle (talk) 02:58, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
