Anti-Zionism isn't anti-racism in and of itself

Proclaiming that various Jewish organizations are anti-Zionist does not make them anti-racist. If anything, this could be considered a form of assimilation or self-hatred, especially without an alternative form of Jewish self-determination such as Autonomism which is still viable. For example, JVP has at times engaged in racism against Israeli Jews as an ethnicity, proclaiming that "Zionist settlers are either current or future soldiers in the IOF’s reserves or veterans" in April 2022. By the settlers, they were not referring merely to those in the West Bank or those formerly in Gaza, but rather to all Israeli Jews more broadly.

This SHOULD count as a form of racism in and of itself, but I don't know if that will change on Wikipedia. I don't know if I can trust a website that labels organizations that collect data on antisemitism and actively support other anti-racist initiatives, such as the ADL, as "unreliable" because they are Jewish (or, more accurately, they represent the majority opinion of Jewish Americans). Only relying on the most pro-Palestine organizations as reliable sources is, frankly, laughable as a way of trying to maintain balanced information. But that's okay. The organization Teach Palestine (which, funny enough, doesn't have a Wikipedia page), has effectively taken over this website, made major edits to various articles, edit locked them, made themselves in administrators within Wikipedia, and purged any pro-Israel or even pro-peace editors. They tried to purge me as being a sockpuppet, something I had never heard of before this conflict, but now I know why: they only want editors with a particular point of view, because they hold an extreme point go view themselves. I know they don't like having opposing opinions. Thankfully, there are better, peer reviewed websites such as Encyclopedia Britannica which don't have this problem. So its fine. And if you want to look up something niche or a niche flag or country? There are always small websites which focus on this. Listen kids, this website includes Jewish self-hatred as Jewish anti-racism, and that should give you enough of a clue as to how reliable it is as a source of information.

What I wrote above is effectively my disillusionment with Wikipedia, as well as the reason why I will never leave as an editor. Wikipedia has failed, but it is still the primary source of information for most people. It has the informational quality of a cheeseburger for a public in need of the informational equivalent of a salad. In short, this article including anti-Zionism as a form of anti-racism shows how defunct Wikipedia has become.

I mean even post-Zionism and non-Zionism are not self-hatred. But anti-Zionism is denying the right to Jewish self-determination in the only way it exists. One doesn't need to support the independence of a Kurdish state to be pro-Kurdish self-determination because there is already an autonomous Kurdistan in northern Iraq, there is Rojava in Syria. There is no equivalent for us, all we have is the State of Israel. There is no Jewish Autonomy. All hopes for one were destroyed with the effective end of the Polish Kehilla's independence as an institution in 1931 and the destruction of Jewish communities by the Nazis. This doesn't even mean supporting a one-state solution; if anything, Zionism if hypocritical if it calls for Jewish self-determination without at least acknowledging the Palestinian right to self-determination. That's why Liberal, Progressive, and Labor Zionism aren't hypocritical: they are pro-two state solution, they are pro Palestinian self-determination AND pro Jewish self-determination. Unfortunately for Wikipedia's current administrators, such opinions or understandings of Zionism are heresy. The idea of a pro-ceasefire Zionist to them breaks so many rules of their own self-conception that they can't allow for it. But I guess that's fine. I don't care anymore. From now on, I'm just going to read Encyclopedia Britannica and edit Wikipedia.

Frankly, this website as become the pro-Palestine equivalent of Conservapedia. Actually Metapedia, you both would have similar opinions about the Jews. As a Jew, that's what I've seen and its extremely dissapointing. MagyarNavy1918 (talk) 22:36, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
